Over the last few weeks, I’ve passed every exam put in front of me (my whole course has!), and we are now on traction training. Our instructor hopes that next week (it’s been delayed due to obvious reasons this week) that we will get the opportunity to go out and work an actual mainline service, and get some driving hours in.
That’ll be an experience and a half. So far we’ve only driven in the sim, or a slow-speed movement from depot to station and back again, and some of us have done some coupling work… but next week will be something new entirely, and so so exciting!
