First part of todays job – passenger up to Paddington and wait for the 1820 Paddington – Didcot 12 car. Should be fun, doubt it’ll be on time…
Well obviously my first trip down to Didcot was late – but not due to signalling, drivers or passengers… a set of brakes was isolated which meant a 10mph reduction in line speed. 30mph out of Paddington felt painful and 100 vs 110 on the down main resulted in a few minutes delay. Still could have been worse!
