Today was my first shift as a driver mentor a nice easy shift with a good trainee who has come from a TOC to a FOC like myself.

The shift was relatively uneventful with the content being to work a light engine from Hoo Junction to Tonbridge, hauling 66794 that had flat batteries.

On arrival at Tonbridge 794 was split off and the fitters attended with a battery charger. Basically a big generator that plugs into the side of the locomotive.

We then took the good engine back to Hoo Junction and put it to Bed.

Nothing too exciting but as my first mentoring turn I thought I’d make an entry as it’s nice to look back on.
