Prep Works and Recerts

This week’s been a bit quieter than usual, with my two-yearly COSS recertification course taking up 4 of the 5 days midweek – I can’t go into detail about what goes on in the COSS recert but it’s essentially just proving we’re still competent to hold what is a rather important safety critical role.

Tonight has given me some site time though, working in a short 4 hour possession undertaking survey works in prep for a major weekend of tamping coming up – with total stations used for surveying the current position of the track and Routescan survey equipment utilised to check clearances between the track and lineside structures.
