Moist start to the shift, well not officially on till 1805. Parked there car down the depot for a rapid getaway when I finish at 0230 (that and im walking from the Tilehurst end of the depot…)
Well sorry for the update last night that didn’t happen… Turns out I had a pretty full on shift! 12 cars at Didcot require shunting from platform 3 down into the Up Goods Loop near Foxhall Jct, changing ends then running back into platform 4. The stop car mark is literally off the platform, and this is how close we come to opening doors off platforms. The 12th coach on the back is also hanging off the end of the platform and locks up the junction behind as it is overhanging it. We can return from platform 3, however the signallers don’t like doing this as we have to cross over to the Up Main and back again at Moreton Cutting. Anyway, 2 trips to Newbury finished off the day; one being 387306 which I don’t think I’ve driven yet and 165102 on the last Newbury. Only 5 people asleep at Newbury, expecting me to go back to their stations for them, sorry no, I go straight to the depot! Have a fun taxi ride. Christmas Party Season is officially here!
