27th November 2023

I’m back on the handles today with a pair of class 73s on my favourite RHTT turn 3W90. The season seems to have gone so fast this year, and I’m not sad to say that we have only got a couple of weeks left before we start the SITT season.

Its my first shift back after 2 weeks on leave. Some of you may recall I spent some of this time playing train sim for 24 hours. There will be a video update on that soon, but I can say that the total raised is now over £2000, an amazing achievement.

I spent the weekend with mates at the Warley MRE at the NEC. I had a great weekend, although the layouts on offer at the show were a lot fewer than my previous recollections.

The weekend reignited that flame to build an exhibition layout and revived plans that have been in the works for a long time. I’m not going to go into too much detail, but in the next 12-18 months work will begin on a 16×6 Exhibition layout. The main feature will be a fully working and interlocked NX panel, where the trains run automatically, and respond to the routes that have been set. I’ve also figured out away to allow the automatic operations to work seamlessly with manual operations, so lots of movement at all times.

Going up to the NEC Birmingham we had the pleasure (insert alternative option here) of riding a Pendolino. Being in the area a ride on the parry people mover gave me another tick on the box before riding my first class 68 on the comfy mk3s between Stourbridge Junction and London Marylebone.

Thanks for reading everybody, I’ll post another one in 6 months
